The service is very good. I forget the exact name of what I had to start, I believe it was their number A3, 3 small brochettes of skewered marinated beef grilled and served with a delicious slighly spicy peanut sauce, typically Thai. The beef was not tender, despite being marinated, and salty that is most often the case for marinated beef in restaurants. The chicken pad thai is very good, fresh ingredients, perfect cooking of the noodles, vegetables and chicken should you like it truly spicy/hot, ask for it when ordering. The fried breaded banana desert with ice cream is always a novelty well appreciated, but I've had better. All in all, Sudbury is fortunate to have this restaurant to provide it with a true sampling of Thai cuisine, which is, in my opinion, quite refined. Easy to digest, as I write this 3 hours after said meal, no heartburn or other digestive ruminations to report. This dinner has made me home sick, for only my lovely wife, Louise, is capable of doing better thai meals. I will come back to My Thai Palace, to sample a curry dish.

With out any doubt so far the best Thai Cusine in Sudbury and northern Ontario. I will recommend this restaurant to every one that I come across. Specially for their crab rangoon.

As professor at the university I have had on several occasions to entertain out of town academic visitors. After trying My Thai Palace shortly after the restaurant opened, I regularly suggest now lunch or dinner there, whether for business of just an enjoyable eating experience.

The service is provided with the same politeness and courtesy we have come to associate with Thailand culture and people. The menu is varied and will suit the most discriminatory connoisseur of oriental Thai cuisine to the newcomer, perhaps a little shy to try some new culinary adventures. The owners wife is a most gracious hostess in the true tradition of Thailand. She will personally explain items on the menu. Ask to speak to her if only for the pleasure of meeting this delightful small lady from an exotic far away land. She is truly enchanting.
If you have never tried Thai food, start your experiment with lemongrass soup. There is just a hint of hotness. It is still my all time favorite. If you are squeamish about hot foods you may want to try the coconut soup. Try an appetizer! My favorites are the beef Satay and the crab Rangoon. My next suggestion is to go crazy on any one of the noodle dishes. If you are more adventurous try something from the wok section. I prefer the pungent beef garlic sauce called Pad Kratiem. I just have not yet had the guts yet to try Red Spicy Sauce (Pad Ped).
I am obsessed with cleanliness, especially when it comes eating out. I have peeked into the kitchen. It surpasses even my own standards. By the way, you dont leave hungry, or with an empty wallet. Prices are very reasonable. The problem is that you will want to come back over and over once you are hooked on Thai food.

My first impression of the restaurant when we walked in was very spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. The food was excellent and delicious. Never had Thai food before and I was impressed and enjoyed. I will certainly go back again as I've put this restaurant at the top of my list.

Without speaking about the quality of the food (that you are lycky to taste if they actually bring your plate), the service is terrible. the manger and the staff should remember key principles of a good restaurant you serve one table at the same time (my frient had to wait 15 mn more than the rest of us) if the kitchen has forgotten, well you present your excuse and say it will not be on the bill. The same frient also had a sticker in his plate. Very nice, instead of excuse, the waiter yelled at us. Not to be recommended for anyone.

I can't say I had the best experience. I was there with some colleagues of mine for dinner. They forgot my order and I had to remind the kitchen about that. No one really apologized for that matter. When my plate arrived, all my friends were finished and ready to leave. I asked one of the manager if this was good service. He tought so... I started to eat my dish... there were some fruit packaging in my plate. I returned it and again the manager was more pissed than concerned about my evening so far. Generally, in those situations, upper scale restaurant would suggest a way to make up for that in order to satisfy the customer i.e. (pay a dessert, offer a drink, waive a fee on some plate etc.). Nothing was offered. I had to suggest that they should pay my entrance... and instead of being happy to satisfy me such a small compensation, the manager started to insult me and treat me like a provincial... Not very nice way to treat a customer when you are opening. The manager insisted that a) it was standard procedure b) his plates were all personnalized... (probably why I had some fruit sticker in it). I tried to voice my concerns, but at some point the manager told me the cheapest management sayings of all retail industry that is when you are dissatisfied, why making the extra mile to make up to the customer... he is made!? if you operate any business or retail service, please forget this cheap management trick, very sad and not true actually.
Beyond my personal experience, a couple of other service issues should be adressed
a) ask for coffee or desert
b) ask at some point if everyting is excellent
c)do not throw the bill on the table without expressing satisfactions and greetings... Reminded me of those restaurants in tourist areas, waiting for you to leave for the next charter...

The menu some interesting variety and vegeterian meals. Sadly, i didnt eat much to tell...

A sad attempt at offering something different. The ambience is a few shades better than your average mall food court, the EZ listening radio piped in smacks of a place too cheap to pay for real music and the ridiculously expensive dinner prices all make for good reasons not to return. And let's not forget the moth balls in the urinal nice.
And now for the food. I ordered a vegetable curry dish that was supposed to come with vegetables and tofu. It had a scant handful of tiny cubes of tofu and some vegetables drowned in about three cups of broth for $12.95. It wasn't awful, but $12.95 for a bowl of soup (that's not listed as a bowl of soup in the menu) is beyond ridiculous. One of my co-horts ordered lemon grass soup. It was sweet. Not something you'd expect from lemon grass soup. My other companion ordered pad thai. Also sweet. So sweet she barely made a dent in it. The waitress asked her if it was OK. She replied, It's too sweet. The waitress took away the almost full plate, but didn't take it off the bill. Awesome.
The bill came to almost 70 bucks. And we didn't even order alcohol.
My Thai Palace may do alright, but if another thai restaurant opens in Sudbury with reasonable prices, food that's not laden with sickly sweet sauce, and that doesn't have mothballs in the bathroom, then this place will quickly become a musty, overpriced memory.
