We were in Sudbury for the weekend and had no clue where to go for dinner. I looked on line before we left and found Casa Mexicana and thought why not try it. I called ahead for reservations and the girl seemed to hesitate a bit when I said that I needed a reservation for 24 people. When we got there I could see why. We took up almost the entire restaurant. The waitress was on her own that evening (someone didn't show up) and she did very well under the circumstances. Between the 24 of us we probably tried almost everything on the menu and all I heard were good things. I had the Chicken Mole and thought it was great, the food is very authentic and so is the decor. Quite a few of my friends said it was the best Mexican meal they have had outside of Mexico. It did take quite a while for dinner but considering 24 of us came in at the same time and there was one waitress and two cooks they did a great job. If we are back in Sudbury I would really like to come back again, we really enjoyed it.

A very inviting restaurant from the curb in an otherwise runned down end of town. Colorful and pleasing to the eye is the decor, complete with raw rainbow colors of place mats and posters of a Mayan pyramid and sacrificial temple (both, I believe from the ruins of Chichen Itza Mexico, close to Cancun). The taste of the mole sauce is quite good as is authentic the maize (corn) flour flat pieces of bread. It was, however, disappointing to have to choose between salad or refried beans to accompany the main dish they should just give a bit of both. Cheezy is the fact that the sour cream and spicy red hot sauce came in small ketchup plastic dixie cups a la McDonald's... Perhaps best to have as take out. The waitress was oblivious as to the origin of the picturesques posters and the cook was either feigning ignorance of the english language or just couldn't be bothered to talk with me about the concoction of his mole sauce. The prices are a bit extravagant, yet there is no other alternative in town. The margarita was good but in my lush opinion quite watered down...All in all, I will go back to go for the special of the day and perhaps sauce myself before actually setting foot in this restaurant as to cut down on the alcohol bill and to more easily stupify myself into enjoying the meal and ambiance. I recommend this for people that have already tasted central american food or travelled to central america and want to reminesce. I warn you, however, that the hospitality of the staff could be less than stellar. Regards, Marconius Grattonius, self appointed restaurant connoisseur par excellance.

Nice place. Good food. Prices are fair.
